What it means to be a Disciple - Peter Herbeck

Peter HerbeckPeter Herbeck talks about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ after having a real encounter with Him.

"Many people perceive Christianity as something institutional -- rather than as an encounter with Christ -- which explains why they don't see it as a source of joy." -Pope Benedict XVI, May 2004.

"The evangelization of the person and of human communities depends totally on this encounter with Jesus Christ." - Pope Benedict XVI, Vatican City, November 13, 2007.

Evangelizing is the Grace and Vocation to the Church - Peter Herbeck

Peter Herbeck
In Evangelii Nuntiandi, Pope Paul VI said, "Evangelizing is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity. She exists in order to evangelize." The aim of this session is to help evangelization become a part of your identity through understanding what the Church says about evangelization, why evangelization is so important, and how to live out this identity on campus.

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (19) Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."
